🕯️On Halloween Night we invite you into a world where the story of Veronika Deseniška (Veronica of Desenice) intertwines with the age of the Counts of Celje, medieval life, superstition and a touch of magic.
For one day, the castle will become a setting for unusual encounters and extraordinary experiences. Birds of prey will soar above the castle walls, while visitors will have the opportunity to discover the medieval tradition of falconry up close.
In the falconers’ camp, the scent of freshly baked bread will fill the air as bread is made using traditional methods – from grain and grinding it in a stone mill to baking and tasting the finished loaf.
Around the castle, you will discover the Witch Market, Veronika’s Corner with palm reading, magical culinary treats, and creative and slightly spooky adventures for children. At the Witch Beauty Salon, Veronika-inspired and spooky braids will be created, along with mysterious face paintings.
Brave young visitors can also embark on a witch’s treasure hunt and make their very own magical slime.
Together, we will create a Giant Spooky Colouring Book, make bats and ghosts from recycled materials, and discover hidden corners of the castle through costumed immersive tours.
But something even stranger will be happening at the castle. Mysterious characters will be hiding among the visitors, while riddles will lead you from one to another. Who is the real witch? The answer may not be what you expect …
And all the while, Veronika Deseniška will be somewhere nearby.

Veronika will keep it safe in her Black Chest – but the answers may not be revealed until next year.
Come in costume, if you dare.
For one day, leave the present behind and step through the castle gates into a world of legends, birds of prey, knights, witches and secrets.
On 31 October, from 10:00 to 18:00, the stories that never truly died will awaken at Celje Castle.
Tickets available in advance (online) and on the day of the event.
In case of rain, the event will be postponed.
