In 1906, the German House, as it was called at the time, was extended based on the plans commissioned by Celje’s German residents from the Viennese architect Peter Pavel Brang.
Starting with the building’s Germanic design, it was built to counter the Slovenian Narodni dom. After World War I, it was renamed to Celjski dom which has since hosted countless cultural events. It is also home to the Institute of Cultural Events and Tourism Celeia Celje.
