The neo-renaissance building of the Narodni dom (literally the Nation’s Home) lines a part of the Trg celjskih knezov (The Counts of Celje Square).
It was designed by the Czech architect Vladimir Hrasky and built in 1895 and 1896. During the Austrian reign, the Narodni dom of Celje was the cultural and social hub for the Slovenian-speaking citizens. Today, the building houses the offices of the municipal authorities. There is an art gallery (Likovni salon) on the corner of the building.
