Horse chestnuts, the sound of the river and socialising with old acquaintances in nature are the main reasons people are visiting the Celje City Park, once known as the Savinja Meadow.
A quick leap over the footbridge of the Savinja River flowing along the old town to reach the green heart and experience the true nature of the Savinja Valley. There are numerous opportunities to spend your leisure time in this green heart. Sports lovers among you can take up a tennis racket, ice skate, skate or head to the nearby Anski vrh or Miklavški hrib hills. Children can have fun in the playgrounds, and walkers can admire the sculptures along the trails. The Park provides the ideal starting point for socialising. Have a seat on the grass or a bench among the flowers with your friends. Take part in any of the events that take place throughout the year. There is a car park next to the park.
Walking trails
A newly arranged walking trail leads through the City Park of Celje. It runs along a linden-lined avenue where all you hear is the relaxing sound of the rustling leaves. There are plenty of streetlights placed along the paved path to feel safe walking through the park at night. The White Trail is suitable for walkers, runners, cyclists and pets.
