When winter wraps the castle walls in a holiday breath, the stone shadows awaken stories waiting for those who dare to discover them. Something is hidden among the towers and corridors - clues, riddles, strange voices of the past... Is it just the wind or a message from long ago?
Winter Holiday Events at Celje Castle 15 February – 2 March
Letters of Fridek the Knight and the Mystery of Veronica’s Tomb | every day 9.00-17.00 | included in the price of the ticket to the castle
Fridko the Knight invites visitors to a very special adventure. This time he is investigating one of the greatest riddles of the history of Celje Castle: where is Veronika of Desen, the love of Frederick II of Celje, buried? He discovers an old parchment at the castle which contains clues about her life. Visitors are invited to help him unravel the mysteries at four marked points.
How do you take part? Ask for a leaflet at the TIC Celjski grad, find the 4 points and 4 letters and make a solution. Hand in the completed leaflet on departure and enter the prize draw.

Exhibition of armour and weapons, swordplay, medieval games, archery and axe throwing.
The Knights of the Šaleška Valley Association

A little school for knights| 21.-23. 2. | 10.00-17.00 | included in the price of the ticket to the castle
Youngsters will learn knightly skills and manners, how to handle medieval weapons and how to wage war. A mini-workshop on medieval skills is held with wooden swords, shields and bows (adapted for children). The programme is playful, educational and tailored to the youngest visitors.
