Gostilna Francl has been serving local treats for over a century. Now, they bow to the eminent mediaeval dynasty with their very best – a true princely feast.
The overture includes home-made smoked beef carpaccio with small scoops of mustard seeds and herbs from a garden nearby. You will then be warmed by chicken soup with liver dumplings and, they are convinced, by buckwheat mush with fresh vegetables and walnuts. This crescendo flows into a climax with wild boar fillet, seasonal mushrooms or refreshing vegetables, cranberries, and the indispensable bread dumplings with bacon, all served on a wooden platter. At Francl’s, they leave the sweetest for the last – homemade dumplings with apricots from a local orchard.
